Microsoft's obsession with Artificial Intelligence (AI) is evidence in almost all its product offerings, now the company is pitching its digital assistant, Cortana to perform basically all the Windows tasks for you on PC.

While the company had previously provided how-to articles on any given task to help users through the series of steps, including videos and other extra aids. Now, it offers a new help feature, Cortana Show Me, which will walk Windows 10 users on the necessary steps to get started.

The Cortana Show Me feature does not only show the steps, but can actually perform those steps, with an “escape hatch” to slow things down if you request it by simply wiggle the mouse.

It comes as part of the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, and serves as aid to users who need some help to understand basic Windows tips, albeit advanced users may not require guide from Cortana Show Me.

The implementation of the AI capabilities as a bundled Windows 10 app, which is also downloadable from the Microsoft Store, could perhaps have been better served as a built-in feature given the sort of basic task Cortana Show Me is capable of performing.

Microsoft claims that there’s about 50 tutorials available within the Cortana Show Me app, which is subdivided into a list of categories. However, the company promises to bring more voice controls to future versions of the Cortana Show Me app.

Albeit perhaps, what's most expedient should be the actual integration of the capabilities in Windows without requiring a standalone app, so that newbies can easily avail the voice commands to find their way around the operating system.
