Microsoft announced at the IFA trade show in Berlin on Friday that Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will be launching on October 17, along with Mixed Reality headsets. While Windows Insiders have been testing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update for months now, which according to Microsoft, is that it wants to iron out any issues for specific hardware configurations before making the upgrade available to PCs via Windows Update.
As the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update’s highlight feature isn’t software related, but rather hardware specific features.
It launches with Windows Mixed Reality headsets, after it was originally teased for this spring’s Windows 10 update. And as expected, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, and Acer headsets will be making debut on October 17 alongside the update.
And it won't require complicated external cameras setup, as all will work with Windows Mixed Reality controllers.
While Valve announced that Steam VR will be coming to Windows Mixed Reality as well, which will be an accompanying software enhancement.
Albeit, it won’t be as epic as originally anticipated, as with cross-device features teased at Microsoft’s Windows 10 Fall Creators Update unveiling in May, highlighting app Timeline and cloud clipboard, which never made the final cut.
